To support the drive for commercial development and continuous performance improvement through the provision, analysis and interpretation of data. To manage and advance the Group Management Accountant's and the Group Tax Manager.

Description

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, key responsibilities will include:

Strategy - contribute to setting the direction of the Group's strategy by providing accurate and incisive data to the Group Financial Controller to enable informed decisions to be taken.

Shared Standards - protect the business by working closely with the Group Financial Controller to set standards and ensure their alignment across the businesses, including, but not limited to:

  • Group policies and procedures
  • Reporting deadlines, quality and completeness
  • External and internal audit requirements
  • Budgets, forecasts etc.
  • Highest quality of management accounting.

Business Partnering - Analyse and review Op Co performance and forecasts including a continuous focus on Working Capital and Capex appraisals. Provide regular reports to the Group Financial Controller on actual and forecast financials as well as any issues and opportunities which may arise. Preparation and concluding on trends analysis.

OPCO Business Partnering - Providing support and guidance to operational financial management, sharing best practice and compliance, together with challenge.

Risk management - maintenance, control and operation of the Group accounting consolidation package for monthly Group reporting.

Budget and forecasting - preparation and management of the annual budget and forecasts.

Professional development - Keeping abreast of IFRS and UK GAAP developments.

People management - contribute to the professional development of the Group Finance team.

Non-financial reporting - Collation and presentation of non-financial KPI's

Management accounting projects - contribute to and where appropriate lead key Group Management Reporting projects.

Profile

An experienced and appropriately qualified accounting professional is sought to provide management accounting support to the Group Finance Department. You will be a confident self-starter, and be able to work with minimum supervision. With excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships internally and externally, you will also need:

  • the ability to plan, prioritise and work under pressure to meet tough deadlines, with high attention to detail

  • the ability to communicate complex and technical points clearly both verbally and in writing

  • excellent skills in MS office products including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • a creative approach to problem-solving

  • good decision making ability

  • the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deal with ambiguity

  • a commitment to high personal and professional standards

  • to be personally well organised

  • to be a team player

The candidate will be a fully-qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with a strong technical background, with at least three years of post-qualified experience.
