Credit Control opportunity in Swindon


Ensure all fee earner time is accurately captured on a timely basis in accordance with policy. Production of monthly exception reports to the Supervisor for fee earners outside of policy.

  • Weekly Credit check of all new matters opened, capturing data into PMS and apply credit policy. Taking appropriate actions following application of the policy.
  • Regular meetings with fee earners to discuss WIP, Debt, Client, and Disbursement balances, including facilitating the management of these balances. Proactive follow up of actions points arising from meetings.
  • Gain complete transparency of WIP to enable the creation of a billing pipeline, including expected recovery rates, methods of payment and attaching appropriate WIP status. Capture data on PMS.
  • Identifying and escalating issues early on in the cycle that may affect profitability, liquidity or attach risk.
  • Observe, compare and document working practices, with respect to working capital management, across fee earners. Promote best practice of working capital management.
  • Delivery of cash collection target for the month by proactive chasing of clients for unpaid debt, primarily by telephone.
  • Actively involved with billing query resolution
  • Attaching the appropriate status against each debt
  • Prompt recommendations to Supervisor for LBA where a payment issue is detected
  • Prepare and maintain cash collection forecast every month
  • Facilitate and report on all credit notes, disbursements write offs and bad debt write offs every month
  • Facilitate fee earners in completing their bi-annual WIP Valuation
  • Assist with Billing (including VAT queries) as required
  • Produce and present lock up reports as requested

  • Responsible for building and maintaining excellent relationships with all staff and fee earners across the business and key stakeholders.

  • A team player, building strong working relationships with the team.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Operations teams to support achievement of teams objectives and always putting business need first.
