Our client in Stafford is currently looking for a Ledger Manager to join them on a permanent basis. This is a new role responsible for delivering efficient AR and AP functions for the group. Overseeing two assistants, the post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the function, champion financial compliance throughout the business and be responsible for key control account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a similar environment and be focused on delivering results through people. Main duties will involve:
• Leading on the efficient management of the group's accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions
• Daily management of the AP function, including performance monitoring for both the department and the business, business support in achieving targets, championing compliance with the group's financial regulations and administering payment runs
• Daily management of the AR function, including monitoring the performance of credit control activities for the group
• Effectively managing the ledger assistants, including ongoing performance monitoring and staff development
• Overseeing the administration and reconciliation of the monthly payroll for the group
• Ensuring the accurate recording and maintenance of all financial data stored within company systems
• Contributing to the delivery of an effective and efficient finance service
• Participating and contributing in Adhoc financial projects and duties as appropriate to the role Leadership

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for setting clarity in objectives and results for the individual and team
• Ensuring that all areas of work are delivered against agreed performance criteria for team and department
• Coaching and supporting individual performance, development and growth
• Actively promoting team work within own department and across the group to meet operational and corporate objectives Job requirements/Qualifications:
• NVQ in Business Administration or AAT
• Experience of working in a busy finance team
• Previous management or supervisory experience
• Effective interpersonal skills, able to communicate with staff and external customers at all levels
• Able to make decisions based on knowledge and evidence, without referral to senior staff as required Salary/Hours:
• £27,538 per annum (£29,404 if achieving excellence after 12 months)
