Role Summary: Based in the offices in central Bristol; my client is seeking a Tax Assistant to help manage the group's tax function. Specific duties will include: Reporting directly to the Head of Tax, the role will involve: Assisting with the group's Corporation Tax and VAT reporting and compliance obligations, with a view to taking ownership of the annual reporting cycle. Tax accounting, including assisting with internal quarterly reporting and the year end audit process. Assisting with the identification; mapping and implementation of improvements to the group's tax functions to help manage risks and increase efficiencies. Providing assistance with advisory projects (acquisitions, restructuring, product development, impact of legislative changes etc.). Providing operational and technical tax support to the wider group. This would be an ideal role for individuals with previous exposure to UK business tax legislation and its application, with a strong desire to grow their experience and knowledge. The role also offers the opportunity to study, or complete studying, for the ATT qualification. Experience required: The successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following: Educated to A-Level standard, with GCSEs (or their equivalents) in Maths and English. Previous experience of UK business tax reporting and compliance, whether in industry or professional practice. It is essential that the successful applicant is comfortable managing their own workload, meeting deadlines, liaising with external advisers and working with multiple departments. Previous experience with Alphatax is desirable, but not essential. Strong numeracy and communication skills. Benefits to include: Modern, central Bristol office location.
