R&D Tax Assistant

£22,500-28,000 per annum, depending on experience

St Albans Contract: Perm, Full Time Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5.30pm Company Profile: An ever-evolving, successful business based in St Albans is looking for a Tax Assistant to join their busy team. Purpose of Role: You will be responsible for the quality control of tax functions and progress client enquiries through the technical function of the business to drive target revenue. This is an office-based role with occasional client visits when required. Duties of Position: Review tax claims prior to acceptance and filing Ongoing training & assistant with tax knowledge with Account Managers Ad-hoc support to analysts on technical & financial queries Optimise claims where possible Keep knowledge updated with relevant legislation & guidelines Assist with sales & marketing content Provide monthly feedback on technical observations to drive continuous technical improvement Record all activity in MS Dynamics Skills/Experience Required: Currently working towards professional Tax qualifications Understanding & experience of Research and Development Tax credits (essential) Understanding of quality assurance processes Good telephone manner, handling inbound and outbound calls Solid time management and prioritisation skills Ability to support the tax manager in dealing with client claims Should you be short listed for this position, a member of the Smart10 team will be in touch with you in the next five working days.
