Robert Half, Welwyn Garden City are excited to be recruiting to an Assistant Accountant for a growing US owned business based in Welwyn Garden City to support the Assistant Financial Controller in delivering to the tight finance reporting timetable. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who wants to help the Financial Controller drive the business forward, get involved in the operations of the company and identify opportunities to further develop and improve the business. Role An opportunity exists for a talented individual to join the Finance team. This is an exciting role for an ambitious individual who is looking to help drive the business forward, get involved in the operations of the company and identify opportunities to further develop and improve the finance department. Responsibilities; Detailed understanding of accounting policies and experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures Driving control and process improvement Preparation of month end journals including areas such as prepayments, consumable inventory, returns provisions, bad debt provisions. Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the integrity of balance sheet accounts Daily review of financial transactions Oversight and ownership of accounts receivable including completion of outsourcing to shared services Liaise with intercompany counterparts to resolve any queries and reconcile balances Working knowledge of VAT and Intrastats Ownership of tooling invoicing Report automation and strong system expertise desirable Analysis of data and trends to support cashflow and forecasting activities Assistance with both external and internal auditors, providing relevant schedules and supporting information. Carry out ad hoc tasks as requested by the Controller Profile You will you be a either be AAT qualified or in the later stage of your AAT studies who is naturally inquisitive, who can challenge the status quo and be the driving force, alongside the Assistant Financial Controller on driving the department and wider business forward to achieve their strategic goals.
