Summary: Following a successful meeting with the CEO & VP Business Development, Barrington James are now partnered on a retained basis with one of the most exciting small/mid-sized CRO's on the market place. Following a continued successful period, our client is growing from strength to strength. In fact, they're looking to further there credentials by brining on boards a Senior Director, Business Development that will be working the USA market. This is a rare opportunity, to work an area that is considered the largest and wealthiest pharmaceutical markets globally. Within that, the selected candidate will be working with a BD team that will target small / mid-sized biotech's, fortunately the USA has a dense population so winning new business should come natural. Our client's broad medical experience means that clinical studies benefit from diverse skills and synergistic teamwork.Over the past 18 years, they have become well known not just for their broad expertise, but also for their deep experience in Oncology, Rheumatology, Cardiovascular diseases, PAO, CNS as well as other therapeutic areas. Responsibilities:

• Maintain ongoing contact with existing accounts, while directing and/or implementing marketing functions to gain market share and new clients;
• Taking part in preparation of business- and marketing plans resulting from a clear understanding of the client's needs and objectives through undertaking and understanding market and technical researches;
• Representing the company at professional conferences, business forums, in order to establish contact with potential new clients;
• Organizing and managing "road shows" with company presentations to the biotechnology clusters of the US, directed by VP Business Development or CEO;
• Planning and performing "cold call" campaigns to support the Relationship-building with potential clients at Senior/Decision maker level;
• Initiating Feasibility Analysis as per SOPs in order to support opportunity (RFP) generation and deal closure;
• Cooperating with Business Operations Director in proposal preparation and follow up including participation on BID defence meetings;
• Participate in contract negotiation process as appropriate;
• Preparing valid, accurate and concurrent records in the CRM system about all relevant interactions (phone call, teleconference, personal meeting, email communication) with leads, potential leads, clients and potential clients Requirements:
• Degree level - preferably scientific
• Up to 1 years CRO sales experiences MINIMUM
• CRM experience (SalesForce) - preferable
• Experience of selling into US market ideally
• Successful track record of Phase I-IV CRO services to pharma/biotech
