The St Monica Trust provides accommodation, care and support for older people in the south west of England. The Trust supports a wide variety of people with different needs through the development of the retirement village concept and care in the wider community. As the Senior Finance Business Partner for St Monica Trust, your goal is to create effective partnerships between our finance team and key people across 6 residential care sites. This is a high-profile, commercial position in our charity. You're going to help influence and shape decisions made by our Directors and Managers. Decisions which deliver maximum benefit to the lives of older people. Day-to-day this means: Being a trusted advisor to Directors and Care Home Managers, helping them solve problems and trouble-shooting on matters of financial performance and financial control Promoting an accountability and forecasting framework which helps managers to be more confident in their decision-making at a local level Interpreting data, translating this into commercial value and presenting it in a clear and concise way that people understand; Developing annual budgetary proposals and a robust interim forecasting process alongside our operational teams; Playing a lead role in the identification, development and implementation of cost/service improvement plans. So if you're going to spend time applying, let's make sure you have what it takes. You're going to need: ? Qualifications: a professional accounting qualification such as ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS or CIMA; educated to Degree level of equivalent; ? Experience: of working in an accounting department in a charity or business employing more than 250 people; of working as a trusted advisor on financial and accounting matters; of developing, producing and presenting income and expenditure reports to non-finance/operational managers and internal customers; ? Knowledge: principles and practices of operating and developing an integrated accounting system; principles of good accounting and bookkeeping; office IT and accounting systems; ? Skills : able to build effective working relationships with senior colleagues; strong communication skills - you can interpret financial data and paint a compelling picture for a non-finance audience; strong influencing and people skills - you give clarity around information and can deliver clear messages including those sometimes people might not want to hear; you can work largely autonomously and with confidence, and take the initiative to make local decisions.
