Eden Scott's client is a utilities company based in Edinburgh who are currently recruiting a finance business partner to work on a temporary to permanent contract. The role will report to the head of finance and will be accountable for controlling budgets and the spend of individual business units. Responsibilities The key purpose of this role is to ensure financial controls are in place to protect the budgets of specific business units. This will involve proactively going out to meet stakeholders, reviewing budgets and spend forecasts. As part of your role you will responsible for the creation of management accounts. Your will be heavily involved in reconciling business unit spend/cost centre analysis and be expected to challenge/report overspend. The role holder will also be accountable for the timely production of management reports to safeguard the company's financial position. Requirements To qualify for this role, we are seeking applications from CIMA qualified accountants. The system that the organisation use is Oracle, so previous Oracle experience would be an advantage. Due to the nature of the organisation, there is a large amount of data that you will be manipulating in Excel, as such advanced Excel skills are essential. The role is client facing so the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders is important. The stakeholders that you will be liaising with can predominantly operationally focused and do not have site of the strategic goals and objectives.
