Accounts Payable Manager job paying up to £45k for a growing retail business in the heart of London

Your new company
A fast growing, well established and globally recognised retail business is looking for an AP Manager to join their finance team of 10 in their new offices, based in the heart of London. The business rose to instant success since their launch around 10 years ago and have since expanded into a number of countries across Europe and have really marked their imprint in the market but collecting a number of awards for their innovative products and designs. This business has been rising from strength to strength over the past few years and is expected to continue its successful journey.

Your new role
Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this newly created role will offer great support to the wider finance team. You will be supervising 2 juniors in the team who are responsible for accounts payable duties from invoice processing, making payments and dealing with supplier queries. Whilst ensuring the AP duties are completed, you will also be working with the sales ledger team and looking in weekly and month sales reconciliations, whilst analysing the transaction to investigate any discrepancies. You will be looking into the detail of cash movement in the business and reporting on it with an analytical perspective. Alongside this, you will also oversee the month end close process, which will mean you will deal with all payment providers, suppliers, the bank and also be the point of contact for external auditors, in particular when dealing with any cash-office related queries.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, you must have previous experience in a similar role whereby you have managed the Accounts Payable function and ideally supervised at least a couple of juniors in the team. You will be analytically minded, with the ability to identify any issues and areas of improvement when reviewing the finance transactions in the business (in particular, cash). Ideally you will have used Sage 200 before, although this is not essential and will come from a retail background so that you are able to cope with the high volume, fast paced environment.
