Financial Controller

Working within a well established Leeds based business, a new opportunity has arisen for an interim Financial Controller.


Your new role
The purpose of this new role is:

• To be an integral part of the team providing timely accurate and insightful information and guidance to drive improvements year on year.
• To provide support to UKFC Divisional Controller
• To ensure compliance to both statutory and internal group reporting requirements.
• To ensure governance and identify risk.
• to direct, develop and empower direct reports when / if applicable.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Drive profitability through reporting and meetings with team members.
• Preparation and communication of site reporting pack identifying key variances to budget, prior year etc.
• Preparation of month end numbers and reporting to central finance
• Preparation of monthly reforecasts and reporting to central finance
• Lead and manage the annual budget process.
• Supervise the Commercial team, reconciling working capital requirements for the retail contract and attending regular meetings with major retailers
• Lead and support commercial pricing decisions and business tenders recognising impact to the business
• Control and reporting of Capex requests, spend and forecast
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparation of weekly cashflow forecasts
• Preparation of monthly Intrastats and quarterly VAT returns
• Develop an excellent working relationship with the Shared Service functions
• Report and review profitability by revenue stream and customer to drive change
• Develop production KPI's to track volumes produced and sold and waste
• Provide information to internal and external bodies including tax, banking and auditors

What you'll need to succeed

The suitable applicant will be a qualified accountant with all round experience and at least 3 years exposure to working within manufacturing or FMCG.
