The role is sharing with another Tax Accountant preferably Weds-Friday (handover together on a Wednesday). Lots of flexibility to suit the right candidate. The Compliance team works alongside the other five finance teams to deliver a statutory reporting and tax compliance package for a growing group of joint venture businesses. Main

Responsibilities:
Working closely with Group tax manager to ensure tax compliance for the Vet Group is aligned to Group policy and legislation; Contribute to tax compliance documentation, updating and implementing new policies as required; All VAT compliance for Joint Venture and Support Office Companies including registrations, timely and accurate filing of quarterly returns and payments; Corporation tax compliance process for all Joint Venture Companies to provide statutory tax disclosures, working with tax outsourcing providers, liaising with HMRC and external auditors, to ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and payments; Provision of colleague benefit details for all Companies to the payroll team for p11d submission; Annual submission of PSA and Form 42 for all Companies; PAYE registrations and calculation of annual NI employment allowance for all Companies; Managing a small team. Person Specification The right candidate: Qualified ACCA/ACA with 1-2 years PQE; Technical knowledge of UK tax legislation, mainly corporation, employment and indirect taxes; Ability to work autonomously by prioritising work and managing a small team; Able to proactively identify and deliver efficiency improvements; Attention to detail and high level of accuracy; Ability to communicate effectively and explain tax areas to colleagues across the business to increase tax awareness and compliance across the business; Strong Excel skills; Enjoy working as part of a small team with a strong desire to contribute and deliver.
