We are working exclusively with a prestigious reinsurance business that has seen some phenomenal growth in the last 2 years. The business has projected another good year ahead for 2019, despite tough market conditions. Our client is looking for a Compliance Analyst to support the UK Head of Compliance in London, covering all areas of the group compliance function and business lines. It will be paying up to £30,000 salary. Previous compliance experience is not necessary although a big advantage. Insurance experience would be an advantage. The business is impressive, and its senior management team is among the strongest in the London insurance market. Individuals that are currently working as a Compliance Assistant or Compliance Administrator within an insurance business will be preferred. We are open to speaking to individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds. However, there are certain things we must be clear on: A degree is essential for this and non-negotiable. Preference would be economics, mathematics, sciences or law. We are looking for a strong educational background and intelligence Excellent verbal and written skills are required. This is an extremely fast-paced environment. You will more often than not, find yourself thinking on your feet. Organizational skills are an important part of being able to make this work for you and if you are IT literate and have good experience of general Microsoft Office tools, it will go a long way in helping make your life easy This role is going to be administrative heavy in the short term. If you are not prepared to roll your sleeves up and take on some administrative duties, this isn't for you. Being a small team, everyone will be doing their part of this and you will have the larger share of it to start with as you learn. Role purpose The role represents an exciting opportunity to support the Compliance team across a wide range of areas including compliance monitoring, financial crime and international licensing. You will struggle to find such a wide remit within larger teams and businesses. Duties and Responsibilities Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to supporting the Compliance team in relation to: Performance of second-line Compliance Monitoring activities Clearing Financial crime and sanctions screening alerts Financial crime and sanctions queries and providing guidance to the business Dealing with international licensing queries, renewals and monitoring The submission of regulatory returns, including RMARs Updating financial crime policies, guidance, and intranet site content Reviewing regulatory developments and communications Assisting team members in the completion of key and ad hoc projects Responding to Broker TOBA requests, preparing signed agreements, answering queries Reviewing TOBA Due Diligence, document issuance, filing and maintaining of TOBA database The preparation and collation of board papers and meeting packs Gifts and Hospitality register and related reports Providing training to the business Outsourcing requirements Dealing with routine correspondence and general departmental queries Maintain an awareness and appreciation of team member's day to day activities to support and provide assistance at all times All matters undertaken by the compliance department when required, supporting the Compliance Plan and Objectives If you are looking for an opportunity to be part of something which is growing and be part of a business which has an entrepreneurial feel, this is a nice role to roll your sleeves up and get stuck into and learn.
