Our client is the market leader in the world of In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) Our success is built upon our cutting-edge technology and outstanding customer service, driven by our corporate heritage of "People before Products" and, as we enter an exciting period of rapid global expansion to support new business, we are seeking an experienced Supervisor in the Customs Compliance department to join our team in Langley, Berkshire The Customs Compliance Supervisor ideally should have a Customs Compliance background and is responsible for undertaking the day to day tasks as it relates to importing and exporting products. Your Duties Will Involve CUSTOMS COMPLIANCE (IMPORT/EXPORT)] Maintain, update and implement documented controls and risk management procedures in order to minimize non-compliance Control of IPR applications, ensuring all process and procedures are followed in accordance with the policy and procedures set by HMRC Prepare and submit IPR returns to HMRC Proactively identify areas of compliance risk & present risk assessment & improvement plans. Transmitting customs clearance data to HMRC for import shipments via Grovesnor Ricardo System and ensuring delivery of product to specified locations in the UK, and Europe area if required Being the focal point for the day to day tasks related to Importing and Exporting products Ensuring Imports/Exports meet all UK and EU authorisation & legislative requirements Daily interaction (in conjunction with the line manager and peers) with HMRC and Government Agencies, Internal Customers, Freight Agents and Carriers Working with all internal logistic departments and (overseas) offices to ensure timely clearance of product shipments through HMRC Manage export licensing applications, decrements and activities for export controlled items. Properly classify PAC products for importing/exporting through research and collection of product information from respective PAC groups. DEPARTMENT/MANAGEMENT SUPPORT Monthly scorecard and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting Establish corrective action/recovery plan for sustaining compliance improvement. Responsible for running various department reports to assist with metrics, department compliance, productivity and efficiencies. The Successful Candidate's Skills and Attributes Will Include Must have strong knowledge and understanding of import/export laws in order to provide recommendations and research analysis. Good understanding of the full JIT supply process. Import and export laws as related to our U.K. operation Inward Processing Relief Suspension Export Licence and ECCN and Export Control Freight Forwarding Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task activities involving numerous details CHIEF, CFSP and NES Intrastat Possess excellent communication skills and is able to interact with a diverse multi-level organization and global customer base. Works well with people under pressure including people from adverse cultural and political backgrounds. Creative problem solver and able to resolve conflicts and filter conflicting agendas to determine path forward. Intermediate working knowledge of computers and the use of software packages (Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) with emphasis on Excel and Access. Oracle or ERP system experience highly desired. Ability to work independently and make decisions as required with minimum supervision. Education/Qualification Will Include Recognised qualification in Import / Export Management or relevant college degree and/or certificated evidence of attendance at relevant professional courses Substantial Import / Export process experience. 10 years experience in UK/EU Customs related functions Minimum 2 year experience in a Supervisory role. Proficient in data analysis and review to properly administer Risk Management activities.
