A large media business near London Bridge is looking for an interim group accountant to assist in a busy period. Key
Responsibilities:
Assist with preparation of the consolidated group half year report Assist with restating prior period information for discontinued operations and IFRS10 adjustments for external reporting, internal reporting and adjusting budgets and forecasts Assist with updating the group finance manual Assist with co-ordinating the half year process with the auditors Provide accounting IFRS technical advice to group management and regional/subsidiary finance teams Research technical accounting issues and draft papers for the audit committee and board Work with other group central departments where required Help support the financial reporting team in their accounts preparation software upgrade Monitor detailed reporting and IFRS information submitted at June 2014 and analyse to fully understand and correct where necessary Experience required: Critical: Substantial experience implementing IFRS Preparing consolidated group accounts, preferably multi-national with a number of subsidiaries Some time spent working in a genuine 'group' finance role Track record of either IFRS transition, updating accounting policies under IFRS or advising businesses on IFRS issues Preferred: Big 4 trained, ACA with first time passes Ability to deal with complex issues and explain them simply to a variety of different audiences
