We are currently recruiting for a stand-alone finance position for an engineering company. This is an exciting opportunity to get hands on experience in a fasted paced accounts role. This role would suit an ambitious Accounts Assistant who is looking to progress their career, learn management accounts, cashflow forecasts and budgeting as well as getting the opportunity to study CIMA. Salary £22,000- 24,000 study support Responsibilities To ensure the reliability and accuracy of all the company ledgers having total responsibility for creditors/debtors/nominal/bank account To carry out day to day bookkeeping duties ie raising invoices, paying creditors, debt collection, reconciling bank account Managing the cash, petty cash, checking and booking in time sheets The production and submission to HMRC of weekly, monthly payroll Monthly reconciliations Monthly submissions to the pension provider - ensuring the company is compliant with current regulations Monthly VAT/PAYE returns To assist with the implementation and development of accounting systems and admin processes within the company Carry out credit checks on behalf of the company To carry out day to day admin duties ie reception, answering the telephone, general admin support to the company, ordering stationery and other office related items, ordering items for the production staff, control of the purchasing process Ad-hoc reports to aid decision making The role will also include the following duties, however their will be training and guidence provided: Year end submissions for PAYE (P60's, P11d's) and pensions To prepare financial forecasts/budgets/cashflow forecasts in a prescribed standard format To assist with the preparation of statutory accounts To prepare monthly management accounts in a prescribed standard format, using Sage line 50 Accounting Software Daily cashflow management and updating of forecasts Monthly maintenance of fixed asset registers Monthly production of reports for the monthly board meeting Personal Attributes Flexible approach Must be able to work to deadlines Good communicator/confident Minimum AAT Qualified Competent excel user and have a knowledge of word and databases Additional Information Hours - 8.00-4.30 Mon-Thursday/ 8.00-2.30 Friday 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory holidays Company pension Financial support to further study will be given
