Applicants are invited to apply for the above vacancy within the Shared Financial Services Department, based at the Port of Liverpool. This is a Fixed Term Contract for Maternity Cover. Role Purpose: To assist in the redefining of processes and system enhancements. To generate routine/reoccurring accounting transactions for SFS Billing in accordance with defined processes. To liaise with internal department to deliver accurate and timely billing. This role will include the following

responsibilities:
-To input routine and reoccurring accounting transactions from various source systems to facilitate SFS billing in accordance with pre-defined processes. -To work with the business to ensure issues and problems are investigated and rectified in a timely manner. -To determine and perform appropriate detection, correction and prevention routines to ensure integrity and accuracy of financial postings. -To deal with queries from both internal and external parties -Facilitate on site meetings as appropriate. -Collate information as required for reports and analysis. -Assist SFS Billing lead with ad hoc project work as required. -Cover holidays/sickness/workload as required within the SFS Billing team. -To continually review processes for better ways of doing things - push for automation. -Review current processes, redefine manual processes, and implement system enhancements. -Strong understanding of process and controls. IT experience preferred. Applicants interested in this role should ideally possess the following skills and experience: -A minimum of 5 GCSE/O Level standard or equivalent at grade 'C' or above, including both Maths and English -AAT qualified, is desirable -The role holder must be organised and methodical, performing all tasks in a structured manner in accordance with agreed procedures -Excellent communication skills to ensure that all correspondence, whether verbal or written, is clear, concise and accurate -Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, ideally coupled with experience of Shared Service Finance -Capable of working effectively under pressure, managing your own workload with minimal supervision -Possess strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and organisational skills.
