Newstaff Employment Services are looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant for their client based in Luton. This is working a 40 hour week with hours being 8.30am-5pm (with an hour lunch break). This will be an immedidate start, the client will look to offer the role on a temp to perm basis over 12 weeks. The salary will be based on 20-25k dependent on experience The successful candidate will have proven experience in a similar role and have a background of working in a small company environment as this is working in an office of 4. The candidate must have experience in the following:
• Daily bank reconciliation/posting payments
• Daily update of forecast
• Matching delivery notes to customer invoices and posting of customer invoices
• Supplier and customer liaison
• Reconciling supplier statements
• Preparation and completion of weekly supplier payments
• Distribution of customer monthly statements and chasing customer payments
• Creating, maintenance and updating of supplier and customer accounts
• Reconciling time sheet and spreadsheet preparation to send over to Accountants to process the payroll
• Responsible for Petty Cash
• Some elements of purchasing
• Reconciling Credit Card transactions
• Assisting with Month End journals and Year End procedures Education and Experience GCSE - Maths and English - Grade B and Above Graduates with relevant degree- Accounting/ Finance/Maths/Business/Economics MS Office and knowledge of accounting software Key Competencies Attention to detail, Problem-solving, Teamwork, Communication skills, Trustworthy, Patient, Reliable and Punctual The role is broad in scope, and as such flexibility and a can do attitude are both key.
