Management Accountant (£35,000 - £40,000) - Livingston Change Recruitment Group are currently supporting a leading construction business in their search for an experienced Management Accountant. The Group have gone from strength to strength over the last 10yrs, with further plans in place to expand the Group over the next 5yrs. As Management Accountant, you will be a senior member of the Finance function and we are looking for someone with a level of gravitas that junior members of the team will look up to, respect, and be able to learn from. It is very much a 'sleeves rolled up' type of role and will be well suited to those who enjoy a wide range of duties, whilst playing a key role in supporting the Financial Controller. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following core duties:
• Managing the day to day running of a small accounts department
• Preparation of monthly management accounts for the business
• Budget preparation and relevant reporting for multiple entities within the Group
• Variance analysis of actual performance to budget
• Ad-hoc management reporting and KPI reports for the business
• Preparation of audit file schedules
• Quarterly VAT returns
• Maintaining the sub-contractor ledger
• Monthly cost control and assisting the commercial team in the analysis of contract costs The team that you will be joining is a very close knit team and it is therefore paramount that the successful individual comes with a positive 'team player' mind-set and approach. Those coming from a similar sized firm (circa. £40m) would also be of particular interest to our client, given the hands on, end to end nature of the role. Those who are Qualified, Part-Qualified or Qualified by Experience will all be considered. The key requirement is that you will have the ability and experience required, that will allow you to come in and hit the ground running, and really drive the role forward, with the ability to add 'real' value to the business.
