MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT (INTERIM ROLE) My client currently has an opportunity for an experienced MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT to join the team at their manufacturing facility in High Peak, Derbyshire on an INTERIM 12 months Maternity Cover The main purpose of this role is supporting a busy Finance function, working to strict timetables / deadlines under pressure, and reporting in UK and US GAAP. Principal responsibilities are to support the Plant Controller with the preparation of financial reporting and analysis including all aspects of monthly financial statements, reconciliations, monthly management accounts, variance analysis etc. THE ROLE:
• Experience of SOX, involved in Internal/External Audits, involvement in USGAAP, variance analysis and comparing actual results to standard budget costs, forecasts etc.
• Provide advice and guidance to Finance staff where required
• Supporting the preparation of the monthly financial statements including Trial Balance, Income Statement and Balance Sheet
• Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations (including investigation and resolution of any errors/discrepancies)
• Provide relevant, meaningful financial information to other departmental managers to assist business decision making
• Monthly reporting including variance reporting, sales & margin analysis and inventory analysis
• Annual review of Sarbanes Oxley process documentation and completion of required walk-throughs in line with Corporate timetables
• Support the external and internal audit process
• Assistance in the preparation of the annual Standard Costs, ensuring accuracy and are appropriate for decision making
• Assisting in the preparation of forecasts and budgets as required
• Support delivery and preparation of Capex proposals, including Capex reporting
• Support Maintenance of Fixed Asset database, including depreciation
• Support in the completion of the annual statutory accounts and corporation tax submissions
• Assisting in the preparation of the UK VAT return with quarterly submission, including liaising with the MIOC team on any issues
• Assisting in the preparation and submission of weekly payment runs
• Cover for raising Credit and Debit notes and scrap and cycle count sheets
• Cover for the monthly submission of the German and Portuguese VAT return
• Carry out special ad-hoc projects under the direction of the Plant Controller QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: CIMA qualified Experience working within a finance function ideally gained from within a manufacturing / engineering environment Strong IT skills with a good understanding of Excel Knowledge of US Gaap and Sarbanes Oxley Knowledge / experience of QAD or similar integrated accounting package One Stream knowledge Strong team player with the ability to support and motivate others Ability to respond to and meet critical timetables and to work under pressure Excellent communication and presentation skills Flexible approach to responsibilities and working hours especially during month end demands.
