Are you an Accounts Assistant looking for a part time position? I am now recruiting for a unique and growing and supportive law firm in the Cardiff city centre. This firm promotes a great work life balance and really invest in their staff. The role will mainly consist of posting expense claims on finance systems and ensuring documentation is correct. It will include a small amount of reporting and ad hoc duties. 14 hours per week, flexible hours but preferably towards the end of the week. The Role Reporting to the Finance Manager the Accounts Assistant role is a new role, based in Cardiff. The role is intended to provide varied support to the central finance team but will primarily focus on expense claim and accounts payable processing. Working collaboratively with other team members, responsibilities will include: Oversight of the firm's accounts payable (AP) and expenses payment processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of these expenses in line with the Firm's policy; Ensuring the correct VAT recovery of transactions posted; Liaison with stakeholders around the business and within the wider Finance team to resolve queries; Involvement in monthly reporting, such as identification of areas requiring prepayments and accruals at each month end. Skills / Experience Excellent attention to detail and a consistently high level of accuracy; Strong technical skills including intermediate Excel and ideally experience of practice management systems or other accounting software packages; An understanding of VAT recovery processes; The ability to manage their own time, organise their work and deal with queries efficiently and promptly; The ability to work with the rest of the team, supporting others as required; The ability to build relationships with partners and key stakeholders across the firm; The knowledge and desire to identify and implement improvements to processes and procedures; Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation; An enthusiastic and flexible approach with a 'can do' attitude. Experience of all aspects of accounts payable / expense systems, preferably within a professional services environment but this is not essential.
