Summary of Position The Accounts Apprentice is responsible for a wide variety of tasks supporting the Accounts Department. This role would suit someone looking for their first position within a Finance/Accounts setting as full training will be provided. The company will support the right candidate through their AAT apprenticeship via Babington Apprenticeships. Responsibilities Site Transactions Audit Liaising with Store Managers & Assistant Managers to ensure correct information is reported Data entry into bespoke internal system Data entry into Sage Line 50 Maintenance of systems and excel spreadsheets Weekly bank reconciliations for two bank accounts Weekly reconciliations of site till & safe balances Weekly reconciliation of site "party order" balances to the companies bespoke internal system Maintenance of the departments filing system Lodge receipts at bank Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Accounts Staff To attend all classroom workshops & progress and development reviews with Babington Skills and Attributes Flexible, able to prioritise, organised, self-motivated Good communicator, written and verbal Ability to work as part of a team, with a 'can do attitude' Good initiative and confident in learning new processes Detail orientated and accurate Requirements Minimum of 5 GCSE's (including Maths and English A-C grade) Proficient in Microsoft Office Word/Excel/Outlook Good telephone manner for handling queries over the phone Previous experience in an office environment desirable but not essential An ability to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment Driving License would be preferable due to the location of our offices (although we are situated close to bus transport) and the requirement to attend courses etc
