I am currently recruiting for a UK top-100 commercial Law Firm based in the heart of Cardiff. This business is looking to recruit a Project Accountant into their Cardiff office reporting directly to the Finance Manager. This role has materialised due to continued growth within the organisation. The Project Accountant will be involved in various long term financial reporting projects and has responsibility for completion of various weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks. Responsibilities will include:
• Managing the client reporting process and accounting entries in respect of high value international fixed fee billing arrangements.
• Involvement in change projects and setting up new reporting processes where required.
• Review of Firm wide reports, implementing improvements to the overall process and controls where possible.
• Preparing inputs for fee earner KPI reporting
• Maintaining fee earner records in Elite 3E, including liaising with the relevant Practice Group Head.
• Co-ordinate the annual review of charge-out rates.
• Calculation of unit cost rates and subsequent analysis of profitability reporting.
• Identifying and driving forward the implementation of process improvements. The Project Accountant will also be involved in other ad-hoc projects as and when they arise. The Project Accountant will be a professional, self-motivated and positive individual receiving a salary of up to £32,000 dependant on experience. Ideally you would be part qualified or qualified by experience with a proven track record within a similar role. Legal experience or a background in professional services is advantageous.
