My client is a successful manufacturer based in the Bridgend area. Due to an internal restructure, they are seeking to recruit a progressive and capable Assistant Financial Accountant to join their team. Reporting into the Financial Controller the main job purpose of the role will be to maintain the cashbook through activities and controls. The successful candidate will also support the Financial Controller to achieve the objectives of the business and to meet internal and external reporting deadlines. Main responsibilities/job accountabilities -
• Maintenance and reconciliation of company cash books with primary responsibility for the accurate recording of cash movements. Posting of cash book journals to the Nominal Ledger.
• Production of monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.
• Preparation of all payments (to include BACS, CHAPS and manual cheques) and posting of payment entries to the Nominal Ledger
• Maintain and update all bank mandates. Be the main contact for the company with the bank for day to day banking matters
• Production of weekly cash flow report to include co-operation with PL and SL staff to ensure on time completion to review stage. Ad hoc requirements include daily cash forecasts as requested
• Assisting the Financial Controller as and when required
• Completing information required by the National Statistics Office
• Preparation of EC sales and Intrastats
• Preparation of the quarterly company VAT returns
• Processing and payment of expenses in accordance with Travel Policy and agreed payment dates.
• Responsibility for completeness of balance sheet reconciliation and journal documentation files in preparation for review by FC/FD
• Provide assistance to the other accounting functions within the Department as and when required. The successful candidate will ideally be a Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA studier (study support on offer). you will be relevant experience of working within in a manufacturing SME/Large industry and will have previous experience of dealing with financial processes, banking activities and cashbook maintenance. You will possess advanced Excel and IT Skills, with the ability to work as part of a team, in a results orientated environment
