In a nutshell: The function of this role is to co-ordinate, manage and validate the group financial and corporate reporting requirements of Argos and Habitat. The role provides a single point of contact for all group corporate financial information (City statements incl Q&A, financial reporting to Sainsbury's). Weekly responsibilities include trading pack consolidation. The role is also responsible for period end consolidation of the income statement and periodic board reporting. Team: The Corporate Reporting Team consolidates and communicates business performance both internally and externally. This involves owning LFL reporting, profit reporting and board pack completion. The team also is at the forefront of communication with the wider group and manages the audit process. What I need to do: Deliver weekly trading pack consolidation and monthly reporting to required timescales. Ensuring timetables are effectively communicated to the wider Finance team and that deadlines are achieved. Ensure smooth running of the contingency model and that analyst managers are clear on the input deadlines required to deliver month end results. Produce P&L's and analysis based on contingency model. Consolidation of information to produce the weekly trading pack, KPI pack and management accounts pack. Ensure deadlines are achieved and final packs is distributed on time and in full. Act as key contact with Central Finance Essbase Team to ensure any issues identified are raised and resolved within required timescales to ensure weekly and monthly reporting is not affected. Preparation of monthly management presentations, creating slides and charts as required, ensuring adequate explanations of the numbers is made available to aid Senior Management in delivering the presentation to an audience. Review existing models and processes continually seeking to improve efficiency. Particular examples include monthly management presentation and full year pack. Ad hoc project work as required. Ensuring tasks allocated are completed to required timescales and progress is regularly updated to Corporate Reporting Manager and Business Planning Controller.
