The newly created Financial Director role is pivotal and reflects the needs of a growing group of companies which provide financial services to commercial businesses. They are entering their next growth phase and the requirement is for an excellent strategic thinker with first class financial experience, ideally within the financial services sector. You will be authorised by the FCA and will take responsibility for the legal and compliance elements of the group of companies. The individual will manage a financial team and this role is a director position and will require that you attend regular board meetings as well as manage the relationship with the finance, audit, remuneration and compliance committee where corporate governance and compliance is monitored. You will also play a key part in maintaining stakeholder relationships. You will work closely with the CEO to develop and assist in delivering ambitious growth plans and will be a clear strategic thinker and leader. You will have a proven track record as a qualified accountant and be used to adding value to the business through your experience. Our client can offer a competitive salary and benefits package. This appointment, reporting to the CEO, will be accountable for the following: Expert financial leadership, a key member of the senior management team and ensuring a high-performance environment Develop highly effective relationships across all stakeholders, including bankers, auditors, consultants, customers & suppliers Manage and develop the finance, admin compliance & legal teams Ongoing reporting to the board , proactively raising issues with proposed solutions Developing and delivering the 5-year plan together with the leadership team and board Day-to-day running of key administrative functions such as IT, Facilities and Compliance You will have a good working knowledge and can demonstrate experience of the following: A strong understanding of the issues facing financial services firms, with the accompanying challenges on analysis and reporting; Be able to understand manage complex stakeholder needs and the implications within a group environment. Strong technical and analytical skills, attention to detail and commercial awareness with a track record of building the necessary controls and reporting infrastructure A track record of developing strong working relationships with senior leadership teams, as well as experience of growth Strategic approach with ability to keep the long term in mind as well as taking a 'hands-on' approach to the short-term priorities Strong customer focus, both internally and externally Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with non-financial managers.
