General Accountant

General Accountant, Derry, 9 month contract role with possible extension

Your new role
As General Accountant you will responsible for a wide variety of transactional activities spanning different areas of the finance and accounting function. Duties will include: Oversee the fixed asset accounting processes; prepare manual journal entries as assigned; ensure completeness, appropriate approval, and accuracy of general ledger transactions; responsible for month end Hyperion uploads; develop and provide meaningful financial and operational performance metrics and trend reports as assigned; prepare analysis and ad-hoc reports as requested; prepare account analysis and reconciliations; oversee the preparation of VAT, Intrastat, PAYE, NIC and other returns; monitor existing processes across all functional areas for control risk and process improvement opportunities and make improvement recommendations to the leadership team; perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelors' degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3+ years relevant Finance and Accounting experience.
• Qualified or Part qualified with a professional Accounting body
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• ERP experience

Desirable Criteria

• SAP experience
• Previous experience working within Finance/Accounting in the Manufacturing industry
• Language skills

What you'll get in return
You will work for a global company in a busy finance department gaining vast experience. You will work on a full-time basis Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and Friday 8am to 12 noon. This is a contract role for a minimum of 9 months with possible extension.
