This position is within Client Delivery and requires someone with well-developed analytical skills to work with the clients, regulatory bodies and product management to identify business needs, legal/regulatory requirements and processing options. The ideal candidate has gained experience working as an analyst in retail banking, consumer lending and credit / debit cards. A background in acquiring/card operations or product management is preferred and proven knowledge of revolving credit software, Omnipay/IPG (Payment Gateways) are highly desirable. The successful candidate will autonomously on assigned tasks within overall constraints defined by immediate management. The candidate will take the initiative in building a network of contacts within the First Data organisation, interfacing with multiple IT Groups and business units. This requires a high amount of independent discretion and decision-making abilities. Attention to detail is essential to the role. Business Analysts will provide coaching to business functions and lower level analysts on moderate to complex issues. Must be able to consult with users in determining system functional specifications. The Business & Data Analyst principal duties are: Develop a thorough working knowledge of the functionality associated with First Data's platforms. Understand and communicate the functionality within First Data and externally. Assess the complexity of business requirements and recognize the impact of development on the platform architecture as a whole. Working with Programme Manager, Project Managers, Application Developers, Solution Architects, Operational areas and the requestor to deliver requirements for new product concepts, functional enhancements and business processes. Analysis and definition of all business requirements (internal and client initiated) breaking down to the required level of detail to drive a traceability matrix and functional solution documents. Ownership of requirements on complex and long term projects throughout the software development lifecycle. Ensuring the solution, development and testing deliver the correct coverage and scope. Documenting requirements clearly and concisely in the accepted format. Understand the purpose, benefit and any date imperatives of the project to the requestor. Participate in developing project plans, providing work estimates when applicable. Perform gap analysis between other processing platforms and Acquiring Systems. Definition, documentation, set up and maintenance of Acquiring Systems control records. Adherence to country and industry compliance, client questionnaires relating to existing functionality, functional enhancements requiring parameterisation and conversion / start up documentation is essential. Working with Solutions Architects to estimate the effort to develop functional specifications that solve the business requirements and develop, prepare and distribute functional specification documents following internal standards in accordance with approved project plans. Understand any changes to requirements or scope and impact these may have on potential solutions and project timelines. Assist in educating trainers and BAU personnel on new product releases and updates. Completion of handover documentation for the project / enhancement to transition to BAU support. Understand and guide clients through Standard Interfaces layouts used at First Data. Guide and consult in the development of test plans and test scripts. Conduct Quality Inspections and participate in Quality Assurance testing. Support customer visits and consultative sessions. Interfacing with Third Party solutions and other applications and systems. Support the Project Manager at external Client sites as and when requested. Strong Influencing skills to steer client to use base functionality Experience of working in Financial Services and Banking Industries. Knowledge of UML based requirements modeling and experience on Agile/Rapid Application Development projects is highly desirable Multi-lingual, multi-country projects, and business travel experience. Work experience with Consumer Finance portfolio conversions. Subject Matter Expert/Business Analyst in at least one of the following areas strongly preferred: Regulatory, Compliance, Payment Schemes, Card Personalization, Application Processing, Customer Correspondence ( Statements, Letters), Fulfillment, Collections, Risk/Fraud, Disputes, Chargebacks, Retrievals, Testing, and Consumer Finance, which can include Credit Cards, Loans, Debit Cards, and Retails Cards PRINCE2 certification, or knowledge of project management methodologies
