Our finance team provides valuable support to the Business Leaders of Grant Thornton, giving them the information they need to monitor the Firms results and to achieve it's strategy for growth. We help to safeguard the Firm's assets and ensure our finance policies are applied by providing the necessary support and challenge to the business. We are part way through an exciting project to introduce a new finance platform and rethink the way finance provides support to the business and you will be part of this. As a Financial Reporting Manager you will also be focused on the Statutory Reporting requirements for the group, a key role, providing financial reporting expertise and ensuring that all statutory accounting needs are met for the business. Your work will contribute to the bigger picture and you will enjoy impacting on the success of our firm and shaping a vibrant economy. What you'll be doing: You will have a proven track record in preparing large group IFRS Financial Statements and subsidiary entity accounts You will have a desire to keep up to date with Financial Reporting Standards and be willing to share updates and knowledge with the wider finance team to explore impacts on our current and future accounting policies You will work closely with our National Assurance team to ensure that our existing and future accounting policies remain robust and fit for purpose in an ever changing environment You will build good relationships internally and externally to enable you to keep your finger on the pulse of Grant Thornton to keep abreast of changes and ensure you are able to bring best practice solutions and maintain a questioning mind You will quickly bring yourself up to speed on the current Financial reporting requirements and policies of the Firm and be responsible for applying these and be confident in providing challenge to the Business where required You will be responsible for meeting the Firms reporting deadlines and dealing with the Auditors at year end and during our interim audit You will have a strong technical skill set which will involve you in various adhoc financial reporting requests and specialist projects for the Firm as the need arises You will be keen to engage with the new finance platform project and have a proven track record of being able to think differently and bring new ideas to life, so that you can contribute to transforming the way finance works You will have strong communication skills and be able to apply these according to the audience You will apply critical reasoning to bring clarity and insight to the work you are responsible for.
