Financial Controller Permanent Full time Wrexham Up to £60,000 per annum 22 days holiday ( bank holidays) pension free parking The Role: A Financial Controller is required for an exciting opportunity within an established and reputable company who are undergoing a period of expansion. The appointed candidate will be responsible for the finance department ensuring that the business is excellently managed in a proactive and controlled manner, whilst reporting to the Managing Director. You will ensure the department is working efficiently and professionally, maintaining excellent high standards at all times. Key Duties: Develop a control environment encompassing business processes, controls and systems. Budgeting and forecasting, cash flow forecasting. Support the MD in developing budgets working closely with members of the board and senior management team. Development of forecasting systems and processes. Preparation of monthly management accounts, KPI's, variance analysis and commentary. Budgeting and forecasting, cash flow forecasting. Development of forecasting systems and processes. Support the senior management team to develop and drive improvement to the Company's financial and management accounting systems. Review and recommend improvements to internal controls and financial procedures. Treasury and foreign currency management. Customer direct debits. Credit control. Supplier Invoicing & Customer invoicing. Payroll including bonus and commissions. Expenses management compliant with HMRC. Adoption and management of best practice financial controls. Oversight of key finance reconciliations ensuring robust reporting of all balance sheet accounts. Manage the filing of all tax returns including VAT and Duty Returns, payroll and corporate taxes. Auditor liaison. Compliance with banking and other commercial obligations. The Candidate The successful candidate will have the following attributes -: Previous experience of working in a SME Owner/Manager Manufacturing business. Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Import/export/ experience trading in multiple currencies. Approachable with excellent communication skills, willing to help others and go the extra mile to do so. Strong commercial acumen, willing and able to challenge accepted practices and processes and to operate as a sounding board for colleagues. Experience of working in a dynamic growing business. Experience of managing and developing a small team. Strong technical accounting and management accounting/reporting experience. Excellent leadership skills and motivator of staff and encourage accountability. Excellent attention to detail is paramount / quality control is essential. Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to prioritising and organising work, ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines. Excellent problem-solving skills, whilst maintain flexibility and ensuring approachable. Ability to build and maintain effective, strong and professional working relationships with others at all levels. Co-operate, liaise with and support team members to assist in achieving team/department goals.
