FINANCIAL CONTROLLER - LINCOLN £45 - £50k benefits THE BACKGROUND An exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced international SME in Lincoln. The successful candidate will have strong commercial acumen; they will be instrumental in the development, planning and implementation of accounting controls and processes as well as developing and delivering relevant management information. They will lead the Finance Team. THE ROLE
• Manage and develop the Finance Team;
• Management of daily financial operations;
• Development and management of month-end process including:
• Preparation of monthly management accounts for 2 entities;
• Preparation of reporting pack for the Board of Directors;
• Reviewing internal controls within the business and implementing change where necessary;
• Overseeing monthly cash flow forecasting;
• Coordinate and manage preparation of sales, product and profitability analysis and reports for senior management;
• Managing and taking responsibility for the accounting systems;
• Management of all external reporting including preparation of statutory accounts;
• Management and overall responsibility for regulatory returns such as VAT and Payroll returns;
• Coordinate and manage EU VAT returns to Spain, Italy and France;
• Overall responsibility for stock management;
• Supporting the Finance Team in ad hoc tasks/projects. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The candidate would be a qualified (ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA) individual with at least 2-3 years post qualification experience in an accounting function management position who would be able to quickly take on the day to day running of the Finance operation. The ideal candidate would have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages and in particular strong Excel skills. This is very much a role for a pro-active individual who is adaptable to change, with excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and a proven track record in their current position. The candidate would have an enthusiastic and proactive approach demonstrating a 'can-do' attitude and an effective and confident communicator across all levels of the organisation.
