My Client A multinational group with activities encompassing manufacturing, sales and service that has trebled profitability over the last year and is targeting 20% growth for this financial year. The sales strategy is focused, the people culture is increasingly progressive, and the environment is fast paced and constantly changing. The European Operations business currently has a turnover of £135m with 90% of product supplied to internal sales organisations across their territories, and 10% to external distributors. Manufacturing output is expected to increase very substantially over the next 5 years. The Opportunity A newly created Leadership role within the business due to ambitious growth plans. Take ownership of European Operations (manufacturing) Finance function with a view to energetically driving the business forward. Manage finance transactions service to the manufacturing operation and head office, and UK and Ireland payroll. Review and deliver financial accounting and reporting with discipline and robustness. Principle contact for external and internal auditors. Review and deliver financial planning, forecasting and performance analysis, explaining variances and looking to drive opportunities for profit improvement. Own trade compliance and internal controls for the business. Key member of European Operations Management Team taking an active role in the Management process and the journey to improve performance and grow operations, tackling the commercial challenges en route, including: o Cost control o Increasing the pace of change o Improving supply chain performance o Optimising manufacturing performance o Growth of operations o Resourcing and people o Capital investment and automation Management of 5 direct reports who head up trade compliance, cost accounting, financial planning & analysis, financial accounting & reporting, and financial transactions. Skills/Experience An experienced leader and manager of people in a complex, demanding organisation, ideally within the manufacturing sector. Challenge and target oriented, passionate in driving the business goals. A champion of energy and purpose, engaging those around you positively and collaboratively.
