Adecco Chester are currently recruiting on behalf of a company based in Chester for a Finance Manager on a fixed term contract - immediate start. The purpose of the role is to lead the site's financial accounting, reporting and control activities ensuring they are undertaken efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice. Provide insight and support with a focus on the development and monitoring of operational performance to minimise the business's cost base and maximise profitability. Planning and forecasting Develop, manage and improve the accuracy of operational forecasts and co-ordinate improvement plans that have a positive effect on the results. Manage the site budget process to encompass overheads, capacity planning, COS variances, stock, CAPEX and labour manning. Work cross functionally to drive forecasting accuracy. Challenge and influence CAPEX investment plans to optimise payback. Work with the planning team in defining and delivering working capital targets for stock, profiled across the year. Input into the 3 year strategic plan. Co-ordinate the annual stock take plan to ensure adequate coverage and compliance. Reporting and analysis Manage accurate and timely daily, weekly and monthly reporting on business performance. Track operational improvement projects to make sure they are in line with planned outcomes and suggest corrective actions as required. Drive the profitability of the site by providing clarity and transparency around operational performance with insightful analysis. P&L management Identify and mitigate key financial risks. Weekly and monthly site performance reviews held with Leadership team. Take the lead in the GIRFT meetings, providing proactive challenge to minimise stock write offs. Proactively investigate opportunities for the business to minimise its operational cost base. Process Development Continually challenge existing reporting, using best in class techniques to ensure we are at the forefront of analytical advances to reduce reporting timescales. Lead the business in appropriate new ways of financially focused process development. Support the financial controller in the implementation of business intelligence for financial reporting. In conjunction with the operations finance manager implement stock to nominal to facilitate meaningful usage analysis. Business Partner As a key member of the site leadership team work closely to define appropriate performance metrics and targets to maximise profitability. Work collaboratively with the financial controller, head of commercial finance and operations finance manager to co-ordinate cross functional and business communication. Present Chester business analysis to a wide groups of stakeholders. Key Attributes Ability to think strategically and demonstrate financial acumen as well as the ability to achieve under commercial and time related pressure. Expertise in creating an environment of continuous improvement. Collaborative approach, able to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders Awareness of the external market place and the way it impacts the business. Excellent communication, organisational skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to lead and motivate the operations finance team.
