Outstanding Assistant Accountant Opportunity - Sheffield/Rotherham - Starting ASAP up to £25,000 per annum

My client is a highly reputable, international organisation, working with me exclusively to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their forward thinking, ambitious and interesting business.

This company works with high profile organisations across a variety of sectors, providing bespoke products to their clients.

Your new role
This role is a hugely exciting role reporting to the Group Financial Controller.
An all round assistant accountant role, this opportunity will allow you to demonstrate your financial ability whilst also giving you exposure to gain further skills and develop your CV.

You'll be part of a close knit team who work collaboratively to support each other with a 'work hard, play hard' atmosphere. This company are keen to invest in their staff and happy to support you with your ambitions, giving you the opportunity to 'springboard' onto a more senior opportunity in a few years with their blessing.

You will have responsibilities for:

  • Recording and monitoring Capital projects
  • Maintenance of Fixed Asset Additions and Disposals registers inc. depreciation
  • Correct job costing errors
  • Run month end reports
  • Analysis and reconciliation of Month End Inventory
  • Sales and cost of sales reconciliations to General Ledger at month end
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Record and keep track of imports
  • Aged debtors/creditors
  • Cash book journals
  • Register purchase ledger invoices
  • Statement reconciliation
  • Petty cash
  • Weekly banking/bank reconciliations
  • Prepayments/accruals
  • Tax packs
  • Inventory adjustments


What you'll need to succeed
You will require an ambitious personality, ideally graduate trained with a desire to complete professional exams.
You will have excellent timekeeping and reliability, with the ability to speak an additional language a bonus (although not essential).
As part of the role, you'll have exposure to a variety of different aspects of accounting making this an excellent role for an ambitious individual keen to develop.
