Working collaboratively with the Financial services manager and the rest of the Finance function you will play a key role in delivering the wider strategy

My client is a local authority going through a positive culture change under an ambitious and driven CFO.
Your key responsibilities will be:-
* Managing tasks, and leading projects and people, to achieve deadlines.
*To question and analyse complex data and information and to present it in a coherent and user friendly format
*Communicate complex technical matters to non-financial and senior finance colleagues within the organisation
*Liaise with External bodies (for example, Government Departments, External Auditors and
Other Local Authorities
*Have the ability to interpret new accounting practice, standards, guidance, legislation and government announcements, assess the financial and accounting consequences and apply into practice
A qualified CCAB Accountant (or equivalent)
Experience of working in a Public Sector financial environment with specific experience of budget setting and monitoring and the closure of accounts process
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Local Government Finance
Proficient in the use of financial management systems and advanced Excel functions
Excellent presentation and communication skills
