ZIMBABWE | Pro Bono Accountant for Infant Health Charity | 2-3 Months
A unique opportunity is available for an experienced accountant (CIMA or equivalent) to share their accounting and finance skills with a not-for-profit organisation in Zimbabwe for up to 3 months.
Based in the capital, Harare, close to the Mukuvisi Woodlands where wildlife such as zebras and giraffes may be found roaming, our partner is part of an international charity working to promote education, health and child protection issues globally. In Zimbabwe their primary focus has been on providing opportunities to all young people, regardless of background.
In recent years the work in the Zimbabwean programme has gradually been scaled back but the team have recently won a new USAID grant for a large, 5-year programme focusing on maternal and new-born health. Consequently, they are now rebuilding the team and country operations. They have requested the support of an accountant to help them prepare to receive this significant increase in funding.
Pro Bono Accountant Responsibilities
You will be the first AfID volunteer to support this organisation and your primary role will be to help get the Zimbabwean team ready to receive the new funding. This will be a capacity building role, the need is urgent to ensure that they can meet the demands of the new programme and stringent donor requirements.
