Permanent Senior Accounts Payable Clerk based in Fife, Salary £22,000 - £26,000 DOE + excellent benefits

Your new company

Hays Accountancy & Finance are working exclusively with their client based in North East Fife to recruit for a permanent Senior Accounts Payable Clerk. Salary is negotiable depending on experience + 33 days annual leave and excellent pension package.

Your new role

You will provide a professional and timely accounting service in respect to all payments of invoices through the purchase ledger. Duties includes but are not limited too:

Ensure that the Purchase Ledger is accurately maintained and process deadlines (payment dates) are met
Prepare and check the fortnightly payment run to suppliers
Prepare and check one-off payments, including international payments on banking systems
Supervise reconciliation of suppliers' accounts
Provide any other support to the Finance Manager and the wider Finance team as required
Manage high volumes of invoices across the business
Reconcile bank and supplier statements
Process any direct debit payments
Raise manual cheques from time to time
Deal with supplier queries and requests via phone and email
File supplier invoices
Assist with process improvements in all areas of Accounts Payable
Support the Finance Manager with audit, general queries and ad hoc projects
Maintain the aged creditors list
Manage any petty cash/floats
Handle foreign currency cash requests
Work as part of the Finance Team in handling month end and year end processes on a timely basis

What you'll need to succeed

You will have extensive experience of managing Accounts Payable functions. You will have a working knowledge of VAT. You will ideally be experienced within Sage although this is not essential. You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels. You will have excellent attention to detail and an orderly approach to processing. You will have the ability to multitask and prioritise, taking responsibility for you own workload and with proven ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales. The ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential.
