London Central and West Unscheduled Care Collaborative Ltd (LCW) is a well established social enterprise providing cost effective, value added out of hospital healthcare services across the boroughs of North, Central and West London. The key areas of service provision are out of hours and urgent care services, and the provision of 111/IUC (Integrated Urgent Care) services. LCW is commissioned to deliver its services by certain NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups. LCW also actively participates in the development of innovative models of healthcare related to its main areas of service provision.
This is a critical board appointment. As a key member of the senior management team you will:
- provide appropriate information and advice to the board
- play a pivotal role managing relationships with commissioners and other external stakeholders
- ensure that appropriate and strong financial governance and leadership is applied across all activities. This will include directing and overseeing all financial matters including the preparation of current financial reports, budgets and forecasts and implementing robust financial plans and strategies to maximise opportunities and minimise risk.
- this role also includes company secretarial responsibilities, ensuring a robust system of integrated operational and corporate governance.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant and have previous experience of working in a leadership role which has required you to work with a broad range of stakeholders. You will have had experience of tendering for and managing contracts, ideally within the NHS. It is essential that contracts are managed effectively. Scrutiny of costs will be key as will maintaining a performance framework for all contracts. You must have demonstrable experience of evaluating risk and developing appropriate procedures and controls accordingly.
