Your new company
We are seeking a qualified accountant to work for a large local government organisation in a service delivery area. The role is a permanent opportunity and will give you the opportunity to lead a small team.

Your new role
In this position you will be managing trust accounts and be responsible for managing a high volume of transaction payments external sources. You will be preparing journals, reconciliations, reviewing transactions, reporting actuals against budget and contribute to the monthly statement.

You will lead two staff and report to a senior manager.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a degree qualified accountant with strong financial accounting skills. This role is heavily customer focussed so you will need to have exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.

Due to the high volume nature of the area you will need to be a motivated leader who knows how to get the best out of their staff with a 'lead from the front' attitude.

Some historical customer arrangements can be challenging so you will need to be good at investigating and interrogating variances.

What you'll get in return
A permanent role with a salary circa $100,000 + super is on offer. Some travel within Canberra is required.
