My FMCG client based in Romford are looking for a Bookkeeper to join their finance team. They need someone to look after their transactional finance and accounts up to trial balance and well as getting involved in other areas of finance.

Client Details

The bookkeeper role has come about as someone within the company has retired. This retail business has been running for a while now and has had great success. They are looking for someone who is loyal and holds the same values as they do when it comes to longevity and service.


This Bookkeeper role will involve

Purchase Ledger Duties

  • Matching invoices with delivery notes
  • Checking invoices to prices charged
  • Getting invoices approved by senior Management
  • Posting Invoices to Sage Line 50

Sales Ledger Duties

  • Posting cash to customer accounts
  • Raising credit notes
  • Reconciling customer accounts
  • Making stock adjustments
  • Sending copies of Invoices
  • Setting up new customers on the ledgers

General Accounting

  • Daily Bank Balancing
  • Control Account Reconciliations
  • VAT returns
  • Accounts up to trial balance
  • Collating Information for the External Accountants
  • Maintenace of the Fixed Asset Register
  • Journal Entries
  • Accruals & Prepayments


The successful candidate will

  • Have a strong numerical background
  • Be comfortable with Excel
  • Be organised and willing to work hard
  • Have great attention to detail
  • Be willing to commit to a role on a long term basis
  • Have Sage experience
