Accounts Payable Manager job on a 9 month contract for a public sector organisation paying up to £37,000

Your new role
You'll be working as an Accounts Payable Manager and will be responsible for managing and supporting the team, the allocation of workload, promotion of the team throughout the business, resolving conflicts, the PDR process, approval of holidays, recruitment and other HR related duties. Other duties will include; review and resolve complex accounts through investigations with the business and the supplier. Implementation of achievable processes to ensure effective ongoing management of the supplier. Reduced time going forward. Communicate policies and processes to the business and suppliers, including enhancing guidance notes and providing training where required. Report areas of non compliance to budget holders and SMT. Manage, coordinate and review the bi monthly payments at the proposed payment stage to ensure all postings and payments schedules (e.g. Prize finds) outside of the Proactis system in to GP are adequately authorised and processed. Review appropriateness of all payments outside of the payment runs. Review ledgers, balance sheet and suspense accounts on a monthly basis and ensure the team is taking appropriate action to resolve issues. Control the AP month end process, for example supplier statement reconciliations, inter-company transactions, accruals, bad debts and timetable. Periodic review of Direct Debits and duplicate payments ensuring adequate controls are in place. Establish and maintain key reports (KPI, processing numbers, non-compliance, problem accounts, statement reconciliations). Manage systems improvements and coordinate testing and training when new processes are rolled out.

What you'll need to succeed
You'll need to be a part qualified accountant or AAT qualified with experience of running a small team. You'll need to have 2 to 5 years of experience within a management role and must be able to utilise and demonstrate a variety of skills and techniques to ensure the group complies with financial policies.

What you'll get in return
You'll be paid £34,000 - £37,000 per annum pro rata'd for the contract. You'll work in an excellent office space in central Wembley with parking on site and close to a plentiful supply of local amenities.
