The Wye & Usk Foundation (WUF) is a registered charity concerned with the habitat, water quality and fisheries of the rivers Wye and Usk. The Foundation is more than just a lobbying organisation: working in partnership with other organisations, they raise significant sums of money to remedy problems such as habitat degradation, poor water quality and diffuse pollution, barriers to fish migration, over-exploitation of our fisheries and advance the education of the public in the conservation of our rivers. The Foundation is the largest river's trust in England and Wales in terms of output. The foundation will continue to grow, going from strength to strength with some exciting plans in place.

This is a key leadership role that supports our efforts to improve the environment and restore the fishery. The Wye and Usk Foundation's Financial Controller will join the senior management and lead the Finance team to deliver the Foundation's strategic goals. As Financial Controller you will be reporting directly to the Chief Executive.

This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the Accounting and Administration team, which is responsible for ensuring all aspects of the completeness and accuracy of the Foundation's accounts and producing all statutory financial returns. The job holder helps to manage the finances of the Foundation in order that the Foundation can deliver its charitable objectives to the best effect.

The Wye & Usk Foundation are looking for individuals who have;

  • Worked within a charity, foundation, or 3rd sector role
  • Management experience including management reporting
  • Experience of VAT returns, statutory accounting
  • Working alongside partnerships and experience with trust funds
  • Sage 50
  • A keen interest in the environment, charities and foundations alike
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of UK GAAP and charities SORP

Salary:£26,000 - £39,500 dependant on experience and competency.
