The Interim Senior Management Accountant position is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified candidate looking to take a step up in an exciting SME environment. The client is offering a competitive day rate and the opportunity to go permanent after an initial contract of 4 months.
The client is a fast growing Professional Services SME based in the heart of the West End of London. The culture is very important and they're keen to maintain a start up feel while the business transitions into one of the market leaders in their industry.
The Interim Senior Management Accountant role will include the following responsibilities:
Initial involvement in all accounts procedures to gain understanding of the company and accounts function.
Line management of 3 Accounts Assistants.Management of the sales invoicing process.Overseeing the procedure of raising invoices.Assisting the Financial Controller in all month end procedures, leading to the production of accurate and timely management accounts.Assisting the Financial Controller with preparation for year-end Audit.Preparing VAT returns and related reconciliations.Assist the Financial Controller with any ad hoc duties as required.Ensure efficient and accurate delivery of work from the Accounts Team.Conduct reviews and career development discussions with direct reports.Act as a mentor and guide to more junior team members.
The successful candidate will have the following:Professional accountancy qualification.Solid understanding of double-entry and book keeping.Experience in the month-end process is essential, including balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis, and all necessary journals (including prepayments and accruals).Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.Proficiency in accounting software applications (experience of Sage is desirable).Well organised, must be able to manage a high and varied workload while maintaining accuracy and quality of work.Demonstrable experience of meeting deadlines and high quality of work.A service orientated individual with good inter-personal skills who can work as part of a team.Intermediate MS Office skills.

Excellent people skills, with ability to build relationships with clients.
DesirableExperience of managing a team and mentoring junior employees.Experience with Sage Accounting softwareProfessional services experience is highly beneficial.
