Description

General Responsibilities include:
  • Understand Global, Regional and Local requirements from a Sanctions Screening perspective to assist Management in day-to-day function of its key activities
  • Maintain knowledge of assigned product and functional area, and have a thorough understanding of their area of responsibility as well as a broad understanding of the entire compliance function
  • Drive key sanctions projects to completion under management oversight with defined and structured approach
  • Ensure that business is being conducted in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and internal procedures
  • Keep abreast of new products, technologies and applications as well as their implications for assigned areas
  • Adapt swiftly to the sanctions fast changing requirements and apply the expected deliverables
  • Support APAC Sanctions Sharepoint site enhancements
  • Analyze and interpret business issues, recommending viable solutions
  • Complete all the required assigned Trainings in GLMS per expected date
Specific Responsibilities include:
  • Reporting to the local VP, the applicant will be leading key Lists and Screening Management activities, supporting the implementation of both Global and Regional initiatives in this space
  • In partnership with management, support development and execution of plans for area of responsibility within Global Sanctions Compliance (GSC)
  • Work in partnership with manager on the review and drafting of screening requirements and strategic solutions for the Global Sanctions Compliance Screening framework
  • Have knowledge of products management to serve towards the evaluation of new product approvals (NPAs) and policy exception assessments (OPRAs) to ensure sanctions risk is adequately considered, documented, controlled and screening is set-up as documented
  • Provide sanctions policy advice to stakeholders in the Asia region, including other compliance functions, legal, operations and the business Working in conjunction with the GSC Policy team where required
  • Assist with the reviewing of remedial activities and CAPs (when Lists and screening matters are in scope)
  • Act as a point of contact for the APAC countries for escalations related to the on-boarding to the Target State solution (CitiSceening) and/or support the deployment of the enhancements made to the Global case management tool for assurance that all impacted countries understand scope and are set-up as per required standard
  • Support and produce Project reporting and tracking documentation, facilitating/leading/participating in meetings at the business, operational and project levels escalate any delay in delivering expected results per target date
  • Assist with the creation and communication of sanctions metrics, reporting, and trend analysis
  • Participate in working groups and also attend key screening forums, serving as a back-up whenever required
  • Enhance processes and procedures with a commitment to consistency and successful implementation within set targets and deadlines
  • Support development of innovative approach and drive for excellence in support of GSC APAC focus on achieving high outcomes
  • Provide training to users whenever applicable in the Sanctions Screening Lists and Workflow space


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of OFAC, Asian and UN Sanctions regulations, risks and typologies
  • Previous experience in compliance, legal, risk or sanctions operations in the financial services or equivalent industry a plus
  • Previous experience or willingness to build up expertise in the design and implementation of Sanctions programs
  • Exposure to Compliance/Legal/internal control functions within Asia
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications
  • Manages ambiguity and adapts to and drives change
  • Project Management background preferred
  • Strong analytical skills needed
  • Highly organized, extremely detailed and control orientated
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and initiatives simultaneously
  • Capability to perform well in a high pressure, time-sensitive environment and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas), Sharepoint, Access and PowerPoint.
