Hays are currently recruiting on behalf of a newly formed partnership of two established organisations for a Finance Assistant based in Lowestoft.

Your new role
The main purpose of your job will be to become an integral member of the finance team, to assist and facilitate production of accurate and timely financial information. Your main duties will be:

Processing sales invoices/credit notes and dealing with all related queries.

Processing purchase invoices/credit notes including scanning and dealing with all related queries.

Reviewing supplier statements for accuracy.

Matching invoices with orders and assist with processing payments.

Sending out customer statements and chasing outstanding debt

Checking and inputting expense claims

To assist with the smooth running of purchasing creating purchase orders from requisition status and ensuring these are sent out in a timely manner.

Updating products and suppliers registers.

Promoting and assisting end users on procurement system. Ensuring use of preferred suppliers for all requisitions where appropriate.

To assist in the running of payroll by collecting and checking pay, travel & subsistence claim forms received from departments within the Payroll timescales.

Assist with inputting the pay claims and running audit reports on the computerised payroll system.

To receive monies from across the organisation, dealing with queries as appropriate, clearing, reconciling and maintaining PDQ machines and cash floats held in departments.

This will be a full time post working between Monday and Friday for 1 year.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need:
Experience of working in a financial environment
Excellent Communication skills at all levels.
Experience of prioritising own workload and working to tight deadlines.
Experience of using computerised finance related systems.
Knowledge of general office based IT packages including word and excel.
Basic accounts and payroll knowledge
Strong interpersonal skills with a variety of client groups

You will also need to have a reliable, adaptable and flexible nature, a pro-active approach which demonstrates drive and enthusiasm and an ability to manage a varied work load

You will ideally be studying towards or hold a recognised Accounting Qualification.

You will need to be immediately available to start or on a short notice period.
