This newly created role will primarily assist the Senior Specialist, Investment Tax with the management of taxes within the Cbus Investment team, ensuring that the investment portfolio is structured in the most appropriate way to optimise the net of tax for members and reduce tax risks.  The Investment Tax team encompasses oversight across taxation of the investments function for Cbus.  It will also involve substantial interaction with both the Investment Management and Investment Services and Solutions teams with respect to transaction support, along with significant collaboration with the Finance team who manage the Fund's overall tax position.

The successful candidate for this role will ideally have proven Australian Tax experience in a big 4 accounting firm, top tier law firm or large financial services organisation.  You will have tertiary qualifications in Law, Business and/or Accounting disciplines and further qualifications, including Masters of Tax/Law, ACA and/or CPA would be viewed favourably.  A solid understanding of taxation and superannuation legislation (ie/. Income tax, indirect taxes, state taxes) in relation to investment markets and securities is essential.  In addition, relevant experience with due diligence and structuring of direct unlisted investments within a superannuation or funds management environment, particularly across multiple jurisdictions (ie/. domestic and international) is also a key prerequisite.
