Job Description

  • Lead a team to ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial and regulatory reporting
  • Drive projects to meet new financial and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Ensure compliance with the Group regulatory reporting risk policy
  • Ensure compliance with the Group financial reporting policies and reporting requirements
  • Deliver half year and year end local consolidated financial statements in accordance with HK Accounting Standards and the Banking Disclosure requirements
  • Streamline financial and regulatory reporting processes

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely submissoin of quarterly IFRS packs to the Group
  • Deliver half year and year end local consolidated financial statements in accordance with HK accounting standards and HKMA disclosure requirements
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial and statistical returns to the regulators (including HKMA and SFC)
  • Review accounting for new products
  • Provide accounting advice to businesses and other finance teams
  • Ensure an effective and efficient internal control system is in place for financial and regulatory reporting
  • Manage a team of finance professionals through recruiting, retention, development and team building
  • Be a key contact point with internal and external auditors, and regulators for financial and regulatory reporting matters

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified accountant with over 10 years of relevant experience
  • Good understanding of IFRS and HKMA reporting requirements
  • Knowledge of banking services, products and transaction processing systems and general ledger processes.
  • Project management and business analysis experience
  • Ability to perform requirement gathering and analysis independently
  • Ability to work in an organized way, multi-tasking, prioritising, managing data, and achieve deadlines
  • Inter-personal skills which are sufficiently well developed
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex messages quickly and succinctly to various senior stakeholders
  • High levels of drive and resilience along with attention to detail
  • Capacity to think creatively and laterally; excellent reasoning skills and the ability to make sound judgments
