Assistant Accountant

Birmingham - FULL TIME - Initial 6 month Contract

Accountancy Elite have a fantastic opportunity for a Assistant Accountant to join one of the largest companies within the developmental sector. They are able to provide expertise in a variety of areas such as environmental planning, commercial planning and town planning. The ideal candidate will not only possess the required skill sets & qualifications but they will also have a real drive to grow within an organisation that will provide on going training and support.

THE ROLE

·Assist Financial Controller with monthly management account preparation for Group reports
·Checking employee expenses
·Chasing timesheets - monthly (1st week month before extract)
·Budget update on timesheets and running report - analysis of time
·Sales ledger invoicing - 1 week to process, 1 week for amendments & checking and maintain accompanying reports
·Billing by project manager report - plus data checks for PM changes
·Excel bank reconciliation and cross reconciliation to SAGE (done by P/L)
·Payroll journal posting monthly
·Assist with year-end audit
·Independent administration / quarterly email / vat return / book keeping
·Ad hoc assistance to Financial Controller - emails/admin/investigation
·Individual offices on management accounts - Group plus 10 offices - data entry/nominal checking/coding checks and producing P&L
·Scanning and emailing packs (3) to the bank every quarter & monthly report of nominals to marketing
·Group P&L and graph (10 offices)
·Bad debt quarterly email
·Assist in bad debts schedule for Board report
·Checking BACS receipts on ad hoc basis
·Daily checking bank - email credit control & FC
·Cover for Financial Controller
·Cover for Finance Team roles
·Staff time report - Board report
·General ad hoc - rates checks / SDO spend checks
·Cheque books to offices
·Weekly SAGE back ups
·Office of National Statistics - quarterly return


SALARY - Dependent on Experience

REQUIREMENTS

·Part qualified AAT - operational level
·Excellent excel skills
·Proactive individual focused on system and reporting improvements
·Excellent organisation and communication skills and interpersonal capabilities
