Oversee the accurate processing of Vendor invoices & credits for all operating divisions within agreed procedures and timescales.
Manage the preparation of payment runs in line with agreed Company procedures and timescales. Ensure that all payment runs are prepared in line with SOX and advise Accounts Payable Manager of any discrepancies and propose solutions.
Accountability for Key Vendor accounts, including ensuring monthly Statements are reconciled and payments are made to meet contractual obligations.
Develop and promote excellent customer service by building and maintaining working relationships with both internal and external customers
Supervision of 3 team members including mentoring, delegation of work load, monitoring of processing and deadlines, performance review and management.
Identify and highlight if support is required to meet month end deadlines.
Monitor invoice register and pending invoices to identify older items and highlight these to the relevant AP Asst to investigate and resolve.
Manage the preparation of specific month end Balance Sheet Reconciliations, including the investigation of any anomalies. Review the aged items, challenge and suggest proposals for clearance to meet Balance Sheet KPI's.
Work with AP Manager to review aged credit, identify anomalies, follow-up on aging items, clear offsets.
Identify potential areas of change/improvement; make recommendations to the Accounts Payable Manager Implement agreed changes through collaboration with the Accounts Payable Manager and other team members
Be aware and embrace change to allow continued results, driven by focus, actions and self-confidence within all the team.
Ensure a working knowledge of VAT rules when overseeing the processing of invoices to safeguard HMRC compliance. Any areas of concern or gaps in knowledge should be raised with the Accounts Payable Manager

A successful applicant will have line management experience (this doesn't have to be within the Finance function) & a good understanding of Accounts Payable & Excel.
Salary £24,000 - £28,000
