MAIN OBJECTIVES & PURPOSE :
  1. Collateral and portfolio management
  2. Risk analysis of LC application and transaction request
  3. Technical analysis of transactional and commercial documents and transaction monitoring
  4. Client advisory and management
  5. Internal coordination


KEY RESULTS AREAS :
  • Collateral and portfolio management
    • Capture transaction data into STRAP.
    • Monitoring of client portfolio and collateral including valuation and mark-to-market checks. Report shortfall and follow up top-up actions required.
    • Monitor progress of transactions throughout its life.
    • Ensuring accuracy of the economic positions (utilizations and collaterals)
    • Monitoring the risks including price risk, counterparty risk, market risk and reputation AML and sanctions risk.
  • Risk analysis of LC application and transaction request
    • Analyzing the credit risk, transaction risk and operational aspects of the proposed financing transactions.
    • Ensuring the appropriate ticket raised for the proposed transaction and obtain relevant approvals.
    • Perform first level of controls, documentation and reporting.
  • Technical analysis of transactional and commercial documents and transaction monitoring
    • Check on LC terms, contract terms, SBLC format and client's instructions; etc.
    • Matching of contractual terms and conditions.
    • Preparation of mismatch list on L/C terms for back-to-back and front-to-back L/Cs.
    • Follow up maturity of bills and rollover of loans.
    • Perform compliance screening for all new and amended applications and escalate to Compliance in case of needs.
    • Perform payment due diligence for remittances
  • Client advisory and management
    • Act as the main client point of contact for receiving all commodity finance transactions applications/instructions and responsible for pre-processing and checking, initiating the approval process for new transactions.
    • Provide technical advice to customers in respect of L/C term and bills operations.
    • Meeting with clients in case of need or upon request of business line.
  • Internal coordination
    • Support to RM in structuring the transactions and facilities, monitoring transaction progress.
    • Provide technical advice to RM and Risk Corporate in respect of L/C terms and bills operations.
    • Participation in credit process upon request of business line or Risk Corporate
  • Anti-Money Laundering / Financial Sanctions ("AML/FS") related duties
    • Operations are an integral part of the control framework including for AML/FS topics. In that respect, in performing your role you are expected to ensure adherence to AML/FS-related Group Policies and execution of associated operational controls, and to promptly escalate any resulting hit for analysis and decision.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Essential Technical Knowledge / Skills:
  • Good command of English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Good knowledge of UCP rules on documentary credit, collection, guarantee and reimbursement.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Form 5 or above
  • Minimum 5 years trade services experience
